Wemap Vision uses computer vision (VPS): a consumer 360° camera captures the space and generates a model. The app compares the phone camera image to determine the precise position, with no infrastructure.
Capturing a building takes a few hours with a 360° camera. The model is generated automatically. Production deployment is possible within a few days of capture.
Wemap Vision achieves accuracy of 1 to 3 metres. The fusion of 6 signal sources (GPS, VPS, WiFi, IMU, PDR, map-matching) ensures continuous blue-dot even in areas without GPS.
No. Wemap provides a full offline mode: the VPS model is downloaded to the device and positioning works without a connection. Sync resumes automatically on reconnection.
The SDK is available for iOS (iPhone 12+), Android (ARCore), Flutter and React Native. The web version is available in Java Script. Most recent smartphones (2019+) are compatible with no special hardware requirements.
